Mentor's Desk

Lea Antonia Varga, Mentor BT and former IBM student

Lea - former IBM student and president of Business Talks, IT-Consultant and Founder and CEO of the Mental Training Academy VIŠE

There is no passion to be found in settling for a life less than the one you are capable of living. - Nelson Mandela.

Lea strongly believes in this sentence. She also believes, that the right time to discover what you are capable of living starts at Uni.

Why at Uni? Because at school you might still be trying and figuring things out - and this is perfectly fine. And after hitting a certain niche at your job, most people stagnate and just stay there even though it does not ignite a fire in them.

And the key question is - do you want to belong to the people who just survive or do you wanna thrive?

With Business Talks - you get one step closer to not only getting to know your true self, but also who you want to be in your future career to thrive.

Lea's Mission with VIŠE is to support human beings in finding their very own definition of a successful life. And this is what she is lucky to live as being the Mentor of Business Talks opening the doors for the students in order to not only getting to know their true selfs, but also who they want to be in their future career to not only survive, but thrive.

During the re-organisation phase guided by Lea's Spiral Business Mentoring Process, BusinessTalks found well phrased words summarizing their WHY "Join with your Passion, leave with your Career" #fulfillyourdestiny

Instead of only being a learner, Business Talks ultimately serves students with the possibility of becoming a magnificent doer - building the bridge between theory and practice. Between what you learn at university and what actual business reality is like. Between what social conventions tell you to be and do and what is truly inside of you.

The students of Business Talks and Lea have a strong relationship with each other, with Lea not only guiding them through regular workshops and personal development processes to work on their mental conditioning but also giving them the chance to become #ambassadorsofsuccess which ultimately leads to each individual finding what ignites a fire in them.

This is a massive game changer on how you enter the job world. With knowing who you are, where you want to be, who your who's are and the fastest way towards it.

Nikola Hale, Former Dean, HFU Business School

Nikola Hale, former Dean of HFU Business School has been actively coaching Business Talks for a really long time. She has been the guiding star to its members, helping them find a way in darkness.

I believe that working, performing and living in an international and multicultural environment is the best preparation for an international career. And Business Talks means that students experience the complexity of such an environment while they are still studying. I knew that some of what the students learn through this project is very formative for their lives, as they practice what we teach in the IBM and IBW programs.

I describe Business Talks as  Multicultural, dynamic and inspiring.

My experience with business talks

I love the energy of the group. I love to see students doing things, discovering their passion and discovering that by being part of a group that sets and pursues goals together, they can realize their own visions. And to be part of it and to be able to steer a little bit against it every now and then, when the ship is heading for an iceberg, is a great honor.

The dedication and commitment of the members has been very impressive. With Business Talks, these members of the Millennium Generation show that they know how to create a working environment that combines work and fun. Business Talks is a suitable training ground and springboard for your future career. As a member, you practice a lot of things that characterize a good manager: healthy communication, collegial leadership qualities, interdisciplinary organizational skills. And BT also offers a great opportunity to learn how you would like to work yourself. "What do I like? What would I do differently?"

I wish that Business Talks will continue to embody a highlight as a value-adding instance for the entire Schwenningen campus of HFU.
